    Description

This is a good to fair used condition 10
    cup water pitcher
in the Vermont pattern produced by Burgess & Leigh Pottery Co. 1894. The Rd tag has the number Rd 236241 as can be seen in the 2nd to last photo.  According to my English pottery marking book that would place the piece being produced in 1894. The piece is bright white with flow blue flowers and gold trim.  Looks beautiful! I would rate it good to fair with no chips, repairs or crazing of the glaze.  There is a discoloration of the handle and a crack just above where it is attached to the vessel.  The gold is thinned in spots which is consistent with its age.  The pitcher measures about 8 3/8th inches tall to the tip of the spout, about 7 3/4 across the spout to handle, about 7 1/4 inches across in width (at the widest point), and about 4 3/4 inches at the widest part if the foot.    I am selling this item for a 94 year old friend that is downsizing her treasures because she is moving into an assisted living facility. She had this piece for over 50 years.  The photos are part of the description so please view them.  The camera captures things I miss sometimes.
