Vintage - Eggcup - Lady (Or Gentleman ? ? ) - - Marked Japan
As the title states, this listing is for a single, vintage eggcup.  The bottom of the cup is painted with the name of Japan.  The eggcup is hand painted in muted colors.
Not sure if this is supposed to be a lady or a gentleman.  All the egg holders I have found all show the woman with more or less a dress and necklace, rather than what I think of as a bow-tie.  But which ever, this is a wide-eyed big lashed character, that is looking for a new home.
The inside of the eggcup is dirty and I think you can see in the pictures.  There is a small chip on the inside rim and I have tried to show that in the photos.  The overall height is 2 1/2 inches and the inside diameter of the cup is approximately 1 1/2 inches.
Not sure of the exact date, but from the other items that mom had I would put this around the timeframe of 1947-1950.  I am only guessing and going by memory.
