AMBER Alert Issued: Missing Texas Boy ‘Never Made It To School’

Texas officials issued an AMBER Alert for an “endangered” child who was reported missing on Wednesday after he “never made it to school.”
Zavien Keyes, 9, was last seen in Grapevine. The alert describes him as a Black male with brown eyes and short dreads. He is around 4-foot-9 and weighs around 90 pounds.
Keyes was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with gold Spiderman details, soft green pants, blue Crocs and a light blue backpack.
Family members told officials Keyes missed the school bus and left home to walk to Glenhope Elementary School instead, according to a police press release. The child “never made it to school” on Wednesday morning.
“Police are searching the neighborhood, surrounding parks and Zavien’s route to school,” the Grapevine Police Department said. “Officers are additionally looking for any surveillance video in the area that may show which direction he was traveling.”
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Grapevine Police Department at 817-410-8127.
AMBER Alert is a nationwide program that alerts the public about missing children under the age of 18.
The alerts are broadcast through radio, TV, road signs, cellphones and other data-enabled devices.
As of last year, 1,200 children have been found through the AMBER Alert system and 180 children were rescued because of the emergency alerts.
The alerts are issued when an abduction has occurred, the child is at risk of serious injury or death and there is descriptive information of the child, the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle.
There are four additional active AMBER alerts for missing children from California, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
Siblings 4-year-old Wyman Bryant and 2-year-old Willow Bryant were last seen on August 14.
Officials said the children were taken by David Walker James and Tiffany Bryant. They were last seen driving a 2008 champagne-colored Buick Enclave with paper license plates.
Wyman Bryant is described as a white male with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is around 3-foot-5 and weighs around 34 pounds. Willow Bryant is described as a white female with blonde hair and brown eyes. She is around 2 feet tall and weighs around 20 pounds.
